The group is comprised of friends who hold a wide variety of musical influences and tastes.\nTheir melodic style of old-school punk draws creative influences from European groups like Blitz\, The Clash\, Stiff Little Fingers\, Cock Sparrer\, the Partisans and Leatherface and to hardcore acts from the U.S. like Naked Raygun and Minor Threat. Not to mention the noticeable connection between Bishops Green to bands like Alternate Action\, Subway Thugs and the Lancasters.\nBishops Green’s music is raw and energetic with a style firmly embedded in the historic roots of street punk and Oi!. All of the members of Bishops Green have been playing in bands together since the ’90s and this history\, combined with the groups ability to draw from different punk genres\, enables the creation of a catchy sing-along sound that will make sure that any audience feels like they are part of the show! \nGRADE 2 Originally when the band started\, Jacob and Sid had hardly been playing their instruments\, the idea of starting a band really came about after playing through lunch breaks at school covering songs such as Peaches by The Stranglers and Gangsters by The Specials. They then realised they knew nothing about music so asked Jack if he wanted to start a band with them as he had a mild knowledge of music.\nThe band was formed in May 2013 and they began to write original songs and performed regularly in local pubs and clubs\, and gained exposure by successfully supporting established bands.\nIn November 2013 the band was signed to German record label Contra Records.\nEarly demos were recorded in October 2013\, and their debut EP of original music\, “Broken Youth”\, was released on Contra Records in June 2014.
